Repeat Books
We wrote repeat books in November. Repeat books are books that use the same words on every page. We used our star words as the words to repeat in our books. It is my goal by the end of the year to have a book written by everyone posted on the blog. Enjoy these repeat books written by a few of our amazing writers.
Gingerbread Babies
We read
The Gingerbread Baby by Jan Brett
The Gingerbread Boy by Paul Galdone
The Gingerbread Man by Karen Schmidt
and
The Gingerbread Girl by Lisa Campbell Ernst
and made our own Gingerbread Babies.
Alliterations
Alliteration is the repetition of an initial sound at the beginning of several words in close succession. An example is the Mother Goose tongue-twister,
Writing alliteration is fun and challenging. It forces writers to take a closer look at words, explore phonics and practice inventive spelling. I hope that you enjoy the alliterations that we have been working on in Writing Workshop. As you read the alliterations with your child have them guess what sound the writer chose and try to come up with your own alliterations.

14 years ago today...
14 years ago today after 36 hours of labor and 3 hours of pushing this little "kermudgin" came into the world. As a baby, he loved to listen to stories, ride on his dad's back while he mowed the lawn and would spit the meat out of his baby food.
14 years later he loves to play soccer, is an amazing artist and is finally starting to eat some meat.
Happy Birthday Jack!
We love you more than bubble gum, strawberries and M&Ms!
