This week's Freebie goes with my new Teachers Pay Teachers Classroom Monster Unit. Based on the concept of the Elf on the Shelf your class can pick a Classroom Monster to watch over them and report back to your principal. Download the free editable rules posters, grab my Classroom Monster Unit

classroom monster

Move over Elf on the Shelf and make room for the Classroom Monster. I have decided to use a Classroom Monster for behavior management this year. You can pick a monster from the packet or order an Ugly Doll to watch over your classroom. I am going to have my students write letters to our principal about our classroom rules. Then I will have our principal write back to my students and send them a monster that they can name and write about during the year. If they follow our classroom rules, there will be some surprise throughout the year. Stay tuned as we start this journey in a few weeks. Check out my Classroom Monster unit if you are interested in adopting a monster into your classroom family this year.

Select a monster from the packet...
...or order a monster from Ugly Doll.
Keep your classroom under monster surveillance all year long.
Check out the Classroom Monster Unit in my Teachers Pay Teachers Store.

friday freebie kindergarten timeline

Inspired by THIS pin and a new social studies standard, I created this kindergarten year timeline. Each month my team puts up pictures of our activities. At the end of the year I use this timeline to have my students write about their year.

Get this freebie in my Teachers Pay Teachers Store.

BONUS:
I also used these to label my monthly activity tubs.
ANOTHER BONUS:
This timeline matches my birthday posters

1954 kindergarten report card

My friend found her father's kindergarten report card from 1954. Some of my favorite 1954 assessment categories are…

I keep my hands, nails and teeth clean.
I sit, stand and walk straight.
I use my handkerchief and cover my mouth when I cough.
I think of things to do and make by myself.
Love the Boo-hoo!
Michael is the valedictorian of his class.
I keep time and do what the music tells me.
And last, but not least, the 3 academic standards…
I can make numbers to 10.
I can print my name.
I know colors.
If this was my kindergarten report card I think I would have a class full of valedictorians. All this report card needs is some Scrappin' Doodles or Ashley Hughes clipart
and KG Fonts and it would be perfect:)

friday freebie kids at work signs

Are you thinking about setting up your classroom for the new school year? If yes, you need my Kids at Work and Kindergarten Workshop Signs. Today's freebie is meant to be used with my Kindergarten Workshop Signs. I love to call each of our academic times workshops. I tell my students that it is their job to work hard during math, writing, reading and science workshop. You can grab the Kids as Work Signs for FREE and the Kindergarten Workshop Signs for $1.50 in my Teachers Pay Teachers Store

Now if I could only convince my own children, especially my teenagers, to work hard at school life would be perfect. My two teenagers work hard at sleeping and hanging out with friends:)

workshop signs

While you are busy setting up your classroom, don't forget about keeping your students focused. Here is a simple way that I remind my students about what we are working on every day. I used my Silhouette Cameo to make this focus board on the end of my desk, but workshop signs are included in the packet. You can use them on a bulletin board, Smartboard or magnetic board. Make sure that all of your students know what you are working on daily in reading, writing, math, science and social studies.

They are an easy way to display your students' birthdays.
You will need to write your birthdays on the freebie,
but you can type them in on the editable version for only a dollar.
