Both hops start HERE.
I love, love, love October! During the month of October we go a little monster crazy. We have a monster watching over our classroom, we collect monster (ClassDojo) points for expected behavior and many of our lessons and crafts center around monsters. One of my favorite monster books is
Monsters Love School by Mike Austin.
There are so many ways you can use this book, but I am planning on using it to motivate my little monsters that need to practice letter and sound identification. We have finally arrived at that magical time of the year when I have started guided reading groups while everyone is working independently. Hallelujah! Just like Blue in the story, it is time for some of my cute little monsters
to practice, practice, practice their ABCs and XYZs.
This FREE find and trace activity will foster that learning.
Thanks for hopping over to my blog!

Remember that my mystery word is monsters.

lots and lots and lots of sorting

This week we spent A LOT of time sorting things into sets during Math Workshop. We transferred our "sorting thinking" to snack time and free choice on our own.
Some shared that they were sorting clothes, toys and other things at home.
Hopefully this means that Mrs. Bell's mathematicians have clean bedrooms.

Parts of A Book Anchor Chart

I love anchor charts that I can refer to while I am teaching a concept. I use this
anchor chart to support our learning during Kim Adsit's Unit, Blasting Off With Reading Workshop. Love, love, love Kim's Readers Workshop Units! It was so fun to meet her and her daughter this summer in Vegas. They were both so sweet!
My students are IN LOVE with Pete the Cat so I made
this anchor chart to help them remember the parts of
a book while they are arguing over our 5 copies
of Pete the Cat I Love My White Shoes:)
Grab this anchor chart for FREE in my TpT Store.
Check out my other anchor charts while you are there.
