Math Tip Monday - Number Sense

A great way to develop number sense in Kindergarten is using ten frames.  A ten frame is a simple tool that allows your students to "see" ten and develop a visual image of numbers. My Kindergarteners love ten frames!

color, cut, tape and glue oh my

During the first week of Kindergarten my little artist practice using our art supplies. We listen for the click of the markers to make sure they don't dry out, we practice pulling the tape straight out and down, we sing about our thumb on top while we are cutting, practice turning the glue sticks and listening for the click and practice the dot dot just a dot glue bottle rhyme. All this practicing makes our Creative Workshop more productive and less stressful for me:) Here are our cutting practice collages...
