We practiced adding and subtracting within 5 a lot this past spring.

My Addition and Subtraction Facts to/from Five Unit 

provides 7 activities to practice adding to 5 and 

7 activities to practice subtraction from 5. 

Here are some really bad pics of a few of the 

activities that I took with my iPhone. We were soooo 

busy in the spring that taking pictures didn't happen a lot.  

To do these activities you need the following math manipulatives...

counters, pipe cleaners, pony beads, two sided yellow and red counters, 

two sided colored bean counters, bear counters, bowls, plastic spinners, 

wooden cubes, frog erasers, and tiles.

Butterfly Camp 2015

We had a great week at Butterfly Camp!

This camp is a week in a garden that was created  in memory of a very special little girl named  Tess who loved butterflies and nature.  The activities that we did at camp can be found on my  Butterfly Camp Pinterest Board.

My little authors and illustrators got to meet 2 authors this week! 

The author of Curious Critters, David FitzSimmons, visited us as part of 

our Right to Read week. We loved his books about our favorite critters. 

We are so excited to add these books to our classroom library!

Henry and Ryan's preschool teach Missy Griffin stopped by to share her book Gigi's Window with us. We used her book for inspiration during our special memories writing workshop unit. It was so fun to hear the background information about her book and we all got to draw what we would want to see outside of Gigi's window.
