  2. Oh my goodness...love this collection of books! Thanks for introducing me to some I didn't know about. :)

I also love to use "The Colors of Us" when we talk about drawing people. It's an awesome book that gives cool names to different skin colors. It's even more fun if you have some multicultural crayons to use! :)

  7. Thanks so much for sharing this. These are some great resources. Writer's Workshop is my favorite time of day in Kindergarten, but sometimes I think we rush past the art of illustration, details, labeling, etc... If you haven't read it yet, I think you'll enjoy Katie Wood Ray's In Pictures and In Words. http://www.heinemann.com/products/E02855.aspx

  8. I am a new kindergarten teacher and a terrible artist. What type of mini lessons do you use in your drawing unit?

    1. I've created my own unit as I have gone along, but Talking, Drawing and Writing is a great resource.

  9. A drawing unit sounds like a great idea for kindergarteners. I'm finding my kids have shocking drawing abilities. I'm still getting people with arms and legs coming from their heads haha. I will have to look into a drawing unit I think! Thanks for sharing =)
