Yeehaw for nonfiction!
We are kicking off our nonfiction writing unit by researching farm animals. Lillie brought in her chicks to share with the class. Everyone loved listening to the chicks cheep, watching them huddle together to keep warm and feeling their fluffy down. Teacher Lillie and her mom shared lots of information about chicks, hens and roosters. 
We read a couple of stories about chicks and wrote our favorite facts on an information web. My little farmers will continue to become experts about
farm animals before we start researching topics of our own interest.
