I'm linking up with my literacy loving teacher friends
to share lots of spring freebies.
"In a cave in the woods, in his deep, dark lair, through the long, cold winter sleeps a great brown bear."
One of my favorite Spring mentor texts is Bear Snores On. It is spring and time for Bear to wake up. As the bear snores on, one by one the animals and birds find their way into the bear's lair. Bear wakes up to find his friends having fun without him. This story is one of my favorites. Read Bear Snores On and the nonfiction book Grizzly Bears and make a venn diagram of how this fiction and nonfiction book are the same and different.
Have your student use this FREEBIE to record
information from these books.

I really like that this hits fiction versus nonfiction. Thanks for the ideas and the diagram. It is a great way to work on that standard.
