There are 30 sight words that I introduce during the first few months of Kindergarten. We practice reading and writing these words A LOT. I use these Kindergarten Sight Word Readers
to get my students reading these sight words right away at
the beginning of the year.
Each week we color and practice
reading one sight word reader.
Then we practice reading that sight word reader
during guided reading group.
I have my students start a collection of these
Sight Word Readers in a large envelope. They keep this envelope in their book box. I eventually send home these Readers for my little readers to read at home.
