I use menor texts and past students' how-to books to inspire my students to write their own how-to books. My ultimate goal in Writing Workshop is for my students to write how-to texts like these...
Although most of my students can achieve this goal, some need support. Writing is hard work and I want all my students to feel successful. My Kindergarten How-To Writing Unit provides support for struggling writers to successfully write how-to texts and feel like accomplished authors.
