It is back to school hunting season. Just when I tell myself that I am not going to spend much on back to school stuff...BAM!!!...the Target Dollar Spot temps me with all the stuff I can't live without. Check out my latest Dollar Spot purchases and enter to win a $100 Target Giftcard to spend $1 at a time at Target.
I grabbed 3 sets of wooden alphabet blocks to use during guided reading groups. These blocks are a fun and interactive way to practice letter identification and sounds. Have students pick a block, identify the letter and or beginning sound and add it to their stack. The last student to have their stack not fall over is the winner. Count the blocks in the winner's stack and have a "Highest Stacker" competition.
I always find a good read aloud or mentor text at Target.
This is a perfect read for the first day of school.
The Target Dollar Spot has LOTS of alphabet goodies that can be
put together to make a letter identification intervention kit.
